Parks Survey and Electoral Register

Evesham Abbey Park

Help us improve Wychavon’s parks

Residents and visitors can help further improve Wychavon’s award-winning parks by taking part in a special survey.

Wychavon’s parks team is eager to find out what people love about their local parks or green spaces, how often they use them and if anything is stopping them from using them.

People can also have their say on suggested improvements such as creating volunteer groups, more wildlife areas, sensory planting or more natural play features. There will also be opportunities for people to put forward their ideas.

Feedback will be used when developing the team’s plans for the future maintenance and development of the district’s parks.

Visit www.wychavon.gov.uk/parks-survey to take the survey. The deadline is midnight on Monday, 2 September.

Wychavon looks after 90 parks and green spaces including the main parks in each of the district’s three towns, all of which are multiple Green Flag Award winners indicating they are high-quality spaces.

Cllr Beverley Hardman, Executive Board Member for Boosting Natural Capital on Wychavon District Council, said: “We’re proud of our parks and green spaces and understand how important they are to our residents. That’s why we’re always looking for ways to invest in and improve them. Please take ten minutes of your time to tell us what you think and help us make our parks and green spaces even better places to spend time and play in.”

Wychavon starts annual canvass

Residents are urged to respond to emails, texts and letters asking them to confirm who is registered to vote in their household.

Wychavon has started the annual canvass to make sure the electoral register is accurate.

All households will receive a communication asking them to check everyone over 16 living at the property is on the electoral register. Anyone missing can be added and other errors, such as incorrect name spellings, can be corrected.

Residents who have previously given Wychavon their email address will receive an email fromwychavon.dc.electoral.services@notifications.service.gov.uk containing a link and instructions about how to respond. Others will receive a text message or a letter.

The canvass is a legal requirement and Wychavon must get a response from every household. Reminders will be sent to anyone who does not respond before in-person visits are carried out to gather the information needed.

Jon Morgan, Electoral Services Manager for Wychavon District Council, said: “It’s important we keep the electoral register up-to-date, and it is as accurate as possible, so people do not lose the chance to have their say at election time. Please look out for our emails, texts and letters and respond as quickly as you can. Information about how to respond can be found in the communications we are sending.”

Anyone with questions or concerns about the canvass should contact Wychavon’s elections team on 01386 565437 or email elections@wychavon.gov.uk.
